History of Photography (Timeline)

The History Of Photography 
        1826 - 2009



1826 - Frenchman Niepce produces first landscaped image permanent of a view from nature. Uses the photosentivity of bitumen of Judea, Which recquired eight hour exposure, the image was taken from Le Gras.

The Brownie Camera



1900 - The brownie camera
designed by Frank Brownell was introduced at a retail price of one dollar, It was a (Kodak) box roll film for Eastman.


Lumiere Brothers
1907 - In France, Auguste and Louis Lumiere (Brothers)  introduce the Autochrome, The first colour Photography system that can be used by amateurs and was marketed.




1930 - Reliable Photo Flash light bulbs became available to photographers by Johanne Ostermier, They had aluminium foil in place of magnesium. Similar bulbs were introduced 7 weeks earlier by General Electric.

Polaroid Instant Camera
1948 - The Hasselblad camera was introduced. In Sweeden they offered its first medium format SLR for commercial sale. Pentax in Japan introduce the automatic diaphragm, Edwin H. Land introduce the first Polaroid instant camera which the colours were black and white.

"The Brown Sisters"
1975 - Nicholas Nixon takes his first annual photograph of his wife and her sisters which he claimed "The Brown Sisters". Steve Sasson at Kodak builds the first working colour image sensor based digital still camera, and Bryce Bayer of Kodak develops the filter mosaic pattern for (CCD) colour image sensor.

1990 - Adobe Photoshop was released, and Eastman Kodak  announced Photo CD as a digital image storage
SanDisk - 1994

1994 - SanDisk produced Compact Flash (CF) cards. The new head of Eastman Kodak, George Fisher announced the industry to sell non - photographic operations and to focus on photography in both its traditional chemical  based  and emerging electronic aspects

J- Phone


2000 - In Japan the first
commercially available camera 
integrated with mobile phone that can make and share still images of pictures was introduced by J.Phone (J.SH04)



2009 - Different variety of of cameras was released,  Kodak announced the Kodachrome film to a stop, Kodak loss a plan cut up to 4,500 jobs. Leica introduced the M9 which is the first 24x36mm range finder camera, Nikon release the D300s and D3s both with HD video, and Canon release the 7D also with HD

Photography (The Defintion)



Photography

What does the word photography mean?
The word phtography means the word photo means"light, control"and the word graphy is for "writing".This 'writing with light' or as us photographers say ' painting with light' was first reputed to have been termed by Sir John Herschel to William Henry Fox Talbot in letter in 1839. In the 19th century photography is a method for lasting images when light hits a certain surface.

Photography is an activity involivng creating art and still or moving pictures. Photography is a combination of two different words which were latin.

Print based media:


  • Magazines
Magazines Advertising/ Entertainment. 

This image is effective as you can see Eddie Murphy of him doing a gesture covering his face which relates to the writing that is one the magazine. 







  • Website

The Photography used for is Design Advertisement of a clothing brand, the images are simple. Websites tend to capture the item of what they are selling to people so that they could pay attention on the product that they going to purchase.
